New procedure for receiving state grants: what has changed?
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved changes to the procedure for implementing a pilot project to provide state grants for higher education. The innovations are aimed at simplifying the procedure and increasing its transparency. If you are eligible for a grant and have been waiting for the relevant changes, we have prepared the main points for you!
🔄 Key changes:
Digitalization of the process
Students will now recieve and confirm grant applications through the Diia mobile application, so if you don’t have it installed yet and are waiting for a grant, install it immediately. Freshmen will be able to do this from September 15 to November 5.
Electronic certificate
Each student will receive an electronic certificate through Diia with detailed information about the grant, including the amount and validity period.
Grant calculation system
There have been no changes here, as promised. Two levels of basic grants:
25,000 UAH for students with NMT/ET results of at least 170 points in two subjects.
15,000 UAH for students with NMT/ET results of at least 150 points in two subjects.
The amount of the grant is adjusted depending on the chosen specialty. For certain specialties, there are increasing coefficients, and for some others, only second-level grants are available.
Students are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided. If false information is found, the right to a grant will be lost.
Funds are provided directly by the university
Students do not need to open a separate account to receive the grant. The money will come from the Ministry of Education and Science to the university.
The new procedure came into force at the beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year. The Ministry of Education and Science urges all potential students to carefully read the new rules and take the opportunity to receive state support for higher education.
